I’m always on the lookout for easier ways to accomplish my DBA tasks. With DB2 9.7, I have found an awesome Command Line scripting tool, CLPPLUS.
CLPPlus includes the following features:
- Database connections via simple syntax
- Ability store scripts, SQL PL statements, or PL/SQL statements for editing and then execution.
- A buffer for storing variables
- Lots of formatting options
- Support for executing system-defined routines
- Can run operating system commands from the prompt
- Logging, recording and tracing options
- Ability to get info about the database or database objects
