Rebecca Bond, CISSP, is a respected independent DB2 LUW Security Consultant, author of “Understanding DB2 9 Security”, and an IBM Champion since 2009.
Rebecca is an expert at balancing the twin needs of robust security and accelerated performance. She is adept at designing efficient, secure database architectures; encouraging very large databases to behave; accurately sizing environments; tuning DB2 to work well with complex applications; and providing successful problem solving outcomes across the complete technical landscape. Identified by IBM as a DB2 Subject Matter Expert in 2002, Rebecca participates with other SMEs to write and validate DB2 certification exams. She also holds numerous IBM DB2 Expert and Advanced certifications and achieved her first certification on the product in 1999.
Rebecca is a columnist for Database Journal, a prolific freelance technical author and a frequent presenter. She contributes to the DB2 community by sharing technical lessons learned from her experiences in government, healthcare and financial consulting roles. Her unique background provides a wealth of pertinent database performance and security puzzlers, which she delights in helping us understand and solve.
