Rebecca Bond, CISSP, a.k.a the DB2Locksmith, shares her love of all things DB2 on this site.
Thanks to your support, I have been selected as an IBM Information Champion for another year. IBM just recently published a video of me talking about DB2 and Security:
I attended a webinar recently and listened to a sad statistic. Noel Yuhanna, a Forrester Research analyst made this shocking, but likely very true statement:
“SQL injection attacks and internal data thefts are on the rise — but DBAs spend less than 5% of their time on database security.”
It is sad, but based on what I and other security professionals see every day, I suspect the 5% figure is optimistic.
The security features of DB2 are robust and highly configurable, but the potential benefits too often remain dormant. My focus is putting all those features to their best use to protect an organization’s highly prized asset — its data.
Are your databases secure and performing well?
The DB2LockSmith can help you answer that question with a resounding
